The Nice prosecutor’s office opened a case against John Valovic-Galtier, the adopted son and the adviser of Paris Saint-Germain boss Christophe Galtier, last March, suspecting him of exercising “illegal activity as a sports agent”.
According to a report from L’Équipe, Valovic-Galtier, a “sports adviser” within the Lyon-based Score Agencies, is the subject of a preliminary investigation.
The Nice prosecutor’s office informed the French outlet that the proceeding was initially opened “on the basis of a report from an individual initially received by the Marseille public prosecutor’s office and transmitted to our jurisdiction in February 2022.” The Marseille public prosecutor’s office confirmed that “this case [was] followed by the public prosecutor of Nice with regard to its territorial jurisdiction.”
Valovic-Galtier’s name, as per the report, doesn’t appear to be on the list of the agents who carry a legal license in “3F”. He also denies the claims of getting directly involved in contract negotiations and transfers while acknowledging that he is “not an agent” and doesn’t hold the license to carry out the procedure. In a statement, he said:
“I am involved in zero discussion. Alexandre Bonnefond (the manager of Score Agencies) or Jérémie Sutter (another “sports adviser”) who work on it, even lawyers. I’m here because I like football. For eight years, I have been bringing players to Score Agencies that I go to see on the pitch on weekends. It’s my role, like supporting the most capacious in their daily lives.”
Though, Valovic-Galtier was spotted during the contract extension of midfielder Jordan Ferri in Montpellier last January. The agents are regulated by article L222-7 of the sports code, which, in its definition of agents’ duties, includes “the activity consisting of putting in contact, for remuneration, the parties interested in concluding a contract, relating to the remunerated exercise of a sporting activity, can only be exercised by a natural person holding a sports agent’s licence.”
