UNION CITY, CA — Union City residents wishing to serve on the Superior Court of Alameda County Civil Grand Jury are in luck since the court is now seeking applications for nominees to serve the fiscal year beginning July 1.
The Civil Grand Jury is convened by the court to investigate local government for the purpose of ensuring that public agencies are working in the best interest of the public, and are doing so effectively and economically.
Potential nominees should know that participation on the Civic Grand Jury is a significant commitment with at least two meetings per week in Oakland for one year, Alameda County said in a news release.
