A B.Ed student was shot dead in Bihar while documenting a scuffle between two groups from a terrace on video.
The incident occurred on Wednesday in Rajendra Colony under Bhagalpur’s Naugachia police station area.

Victim was shot in the chest
The deceased, identified as Ashish Kumar, was reportedly shot in the chest while capturing the footage of a brawl between two groups of local corporators and their goons. He was rushed to the hospital, but he died during the treatment.
The video of the incident, recorded by a person in proximity to Ashish, has now gained traction on social media. The footage shows that a bullet from the gunfight below hit the student and he collapsed instantly.

Following this, the person recording the video can be seen dropping his phone and screaming Ashish’s name repeatedly whilst the victim was falling.
In an Indian Today report, Ashish’s brother, Sachin, said they had gone to the terrace to watch the fight between the two parties of local corporators on the street in front of their house.
While the two groups were clashing against each other, someone fired a gun, and the bullet hit Ashish.

Ashish was a second-year student at the Barari teachers’ training college. His father, Pradeep Pandit, is a hardware shop owner in Naugachia.
Eyewitnesses’ account of the gunfight
The eyewitnesses to the fight told the media that Lal Singh, brother of Ward No. 10 Councilor Manish Singh, was allegedly roughed up by Naugachia Municipal Council chairman Preeti Kumari’s husband W Yadav, her brother Pappu Yadav, and several other unknown individuals.
Councillor Manish Singh, who was also present on the spot, reportedly tried to settle the conflict between the two parties.
Amid the fight, W Yadav and his associates opened fire. They reportedly shot at the people making videos on the terrace, and one of the bullets hit Ashish.
Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College and Hospital
After being shot, the student was taken to Naugachia Sub-Divisional Hospital for treatment. The hospital performed first aid on Ashish and then referred him to Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College and Hospital in Bhagalpur, where the doctors declared him dead.
Probe underway in the case
The police are probing the incident and analysing the video, in which the incident of Ashish being shot after the firing is recorded.
The police have initiated the post-mortem, and raids are underway to apprehend the accused.
“The incident has been reported. A video related to this has also surfaced. It is being investigated. Whoever is guilty will not be spared at any cost. Also, a team has been deployed to arrest the accused,” Naugachia SP Sushant Kumar Saroj told the reporters.
