COLUMBIA, MD — An arcade bar for grown-ups will open in mid-January in Howard County. Families can join in the fun at the retro gaming place before 8 p.m.

GameOn bar + arcade can be found in Annapolis and Baltimore, and current owners Eli and Casey Linthicum will be opening their third location in the Merriweather District this winter. The couple used to run the Coho Grill in Columbia.

With nearly 4,000 square feet plus a 500-square-foot mezzanine for private parties, there’s plenty of room for patrons to socialize, enjoy snacks and beverages, plus enjoy classic arcade games and pinball machines.

“Imagine a vibrant and electrifying space where nostalgia meets nightlife. Our arcade bar for adults is the ultimate destination for grown-ups seeking a night of fun, competition and great drinks,” said Casey Linthicum. “Whether you’re challenging friends to a Pac-Man showdown, enjoying our signature ’21+ Capri Sun’ cocktail, or simply reliving your youth, our arcade bar is where the good times never stop.”

The retro wonderland also happens to be family friendly during the day, then becomes suitable for those age 21 and older starting at 8 p.m.

Every genre of arcade games will be available at GameOn bar+arcade, from Pac-Man to Skee-Ball.

“We have an awesome pinball collection – a few of our favorites are Stranger Things, South Park and Toy Story. We are also excited to host many fun events such as Graffiti & Martini – our spin on a sip ‘n paint class – Skee-Ball leagues, theme parties and adult gaming tournaments,” Linthicum said.

There will bean extensive selection of craft cocktails and local beers for adults. GameOn bar+arcade will serve pizzas, wings and other bar-type food.

“Both our pizzas and wing sauces are made in-house and are delicious. You can try them both out at our Baltimore location – or just pizza at our Annapolis location for now,” Casey Linthicum said.

As Howard County natives and graduates of Oakland Mills High School – Eli – and Glenelg High School – Casey, the couple can’t want to be opening in their hometown.

Located at 6000 Merriweather Drive in Columbia, the fun zone will be open:
