NEWARK, NJ — U.S. Sen. Cory Booker is sitting pretty among voters in his home state of New Jersey, a new poll says.
On Monday, the Eagleton Institute of Politics at Rutgers University released the results of their latest political poll. Surveyors contacted 974 adults over a three-day period earlier this month to reach their conclusions, which have a margin of error of +/- 4.4 percentage points.
Booker, a Newark resident, continues to fare moderately well with his constituents, researchers said:

“Forty-five percent are favorable toward Booker, while 29 percent are unfavorable, 17 percent have no opinion and 8 percent don’t know who he is. Similarly, 43 percent approve of the overall job Booker is doing, 29 percent disapprove and 28 percent are unsure.”
When it comes to New Jersey’s other U.S. senator – the embattled Sen. Robert Menendez – opinions are much murkier, the poll noted.
Menendez’s ratings have taken a nosedive, with six percent of New Jersey voters having a favorable impression of him compared to 69 percent who have an unfavorable one. Fifteen percent have no opinion and 10 percent say they don’t know Menendez.
