NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ — A snake was found in a Rutgers dorm room Monday, Rutgers University Police said.

Campus police were called to Voorhees Residence Hall for the report of a snake in a dorm room.

Upon arrival, Officer Rebecca Phillips located and safely removed a baby python. The snake was turned over to New Brunswick Animal Control.

It does not appear the student was allowed to keep the baby python in their dorm. Students must have approval from the Office of Disability Services to keep a “support animal,” said Rutgers Police.
