OSWEGO, IL — A car crashed into a Bristol-Kendall Fire Protection District ambulance Monday in Oswego, according to police.

The crash happened at about 2:31 p.m. at the intersection of Route 71 and Washington Street. The ambulance, with sirens and lights activated, was taking a patient to a hospital at the time.
A Nissan Murano, driven by an Oswego man, crashed into the emergency vehicle as it was traveling northbound on Route 71, approaching Washington Street, Oswego police spokesperson Cathy Nevara told Patch. The SUV was driving west on Washington Street.

The ambulance patient was brought to a hospital by Oswego Fire Protection District paramedics.
No one was injured in the crash. The Nissan driver was not issued any citations, according to Nevara.

Police issued an alert Monday afternoon on Facebook to alert drivers of the crash. The roads didn’t close, but the area was congested until it was cleared around 4:40 p.m.
