MORAGA, CA —More than 80 Moraga households were without electricity overnight after a car crashed into a utility pole, knocking out power to several hundred PG&E customers.
The outage in the vicinity of Corliss Drive started at 6:11 p.m. and at its peak affected 580 customers, PG&E Spokesperson Tamar Sarkissian told Patch.
The Moraga Police Department sent out a Nixle alert shortly before 7 p.m., notifying the public there was an outage caused by a crash. Police referred people to the PG&E website for information on when their power may be restored.

“Within two hours, all but 87 customers were restored,” Sarkissian said. “As our crews worked through the night to make repairs, safely and as quickly as possible, we also continued to restore power.”
The final impacted customers were restored shortly after 5 a.m. Thursday, she said.
