By contrast, York High School, which enrolls 5½ times more students than Churchville, reported three fights with physical injury last school year, according to its statistics. Seven fights without physical injury occurred.

In one of the recent fights at Churchville, two girls fought in a hallway. A female employee ran up and told the girls to stop, breaking it up. Other students could be heard laughing.

In another incident, two students rolled around fighting in the schoolyard. They were ringed by classmates.

One boy commented, “He does wrestling. How stupid!”

Someone separated the two. Perhaps it was an employee, but it was hard to tell with the glare of the sun.

During another altercation, a couple of boys grappled in a hallway, underneath the school’s logo. A male employee yelled, “Stop it! Stop it! Stop it!” Once the boys complied, the man told one of them, “Get over here!”

Another perspective of that fight was from a video by a girl, who was following one of the combatants. They and others ran down a stairwell and into a hallway.

“I’m not going to miss this,” she said. “I’ve got to record this. Where’s the fight?”

During the fight, the girl witnessed the two boys punch each other. “Oh, s—! Oh, s—!” she yelled.

Patch is not posting any of the footage because it could result in the identification of students.

A message was left with the district on Tuesday morning, but this week is spring break.
