MICHIGAN — More than 1,000 Michigan Kroger workers will see a pay increase and better health care benefits and paid time off after their union successfully negotiated a new contract.
United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) Local 951, representing a 1,000 workers in the Lansing area, ratified a new labor contract with the grocery company.

“Our commitment to our team extends beyond offering excellent wages and benefits, including health care and pensions, enhancing the career paths for our dedicated team members,” President of the Kroger Michigan Division Ken DeLuca. “As a pivotal employer in Michigan, we pledge to consistently supply our community with accessible and reasonably priced fresh groceries and vital products.”
Jackie Davis, who works at Kroger store No. 738 in Saginaw, used her experience from serving on a past Kroger bargaining committee to help achieve the committee’s goals with this contract.

“I have been on the bargaining committee in the past and this is the most money I have ever seen from the company,” Davis said. “I am very proud. The committee was able to come together and made decisions for what was best for all the employees.”
