BAY SHORE, NY — Suffolk County Police Arson Squad detectives are investigating a fire that raged in a Bay Shore diner early Tuesday morning, police told Patch.

The Bay Shore Fire Department responded to a structure fire at the Peter Pan Diner on Sunrise Highway in Bay Shore around 1:40 a.m. on Thursday, according to police.

Police said the diner was closed when the fire broke out and no one was in the building. No injuries were reported.

Upon arrival, photographer Anthony Frevola observed that firefighters found the blaze at the rear of the building.

Firefighters said it took around two hours to bring the fire under control.

Mutual aid was provided by Islip, East Islip, West Islip, Brentwood and North Babylon fire departments while Bay Shore Brightwaters Rescue Ambulance provided emergency medical services.
