SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ – This should come as good news to all residents.
During the last meeting, Council introduced an ordinance authorizing the purchase of over 200 acres of open space, to add to the township.
The land has been identified as Block 23, Lot 2; Block 85, Lots 2.11, 2.19, 2.102, 4.06, 4.13, 4.14, 4.16, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15.16, 16, 37.03, 38, and Block 85.04, Lot 12.01

According to Mayor Charlie Carley, the land has Lawrence Brooke going one way and Heathcote Brooke the other way.
“It’s a nice piece of property, 200 plus acres. That will be a nice piece of land to have in posterity,” Carley said.

“That’s really been the story of my time in the council – the race against the developers. If you leave it out there it’s a beautiful land to build houses on.”
According to officials, the township will be closing in on the land in September, as officials say they have completed “all due diligence”
“All of the contingencies have been waived, satisfied or met,” a township official told Council.
