ROMEOVILLE, IL — At its Wednesday meeting, the Romeoville Village Board approved an agreement to complete and continue its strategic planning.

The Board authorized the execution of an agreement with NIU Center for Governmental Studies to facilitate the completion of the Village’s new multi-year strategic plan and parks and recreation master plan.

Village Administrator Dawn Caldwell said the Village received three proposals for its plans.

“We’ll begin the process [for the strategic plan] in September, and the strategic plan will outline both short and long-term goals,” Caldwell said, adding that the Village will meet with stakeholders in public meetings and do a public survey as well.

The parks and recreation master plan will include a second public survey, and the same engagement process with stakeholders, Caldwell added.

“We have various different plans [for the Village],” Mayor John Noak explained.

“One of the things about the parks and rec plan, is that we’ve pretty much completed a lot of the goals of the previous plan, and a number of years have passed,” Noak said. “So it’s a good time to do a new evaluation of that plan.”
