BRIDGEWATER, NJ — A report of a man with a gun prompted a vehicle search in Bridgewater on Tuesday.

Officers then found the vehicle in the Wawa parking lot off Union Avenue and conducted a consent search of the vehicle for a gun. No gun was found, said Mitzak.

The “investigation determined that the owner of the vehicle had a cell phone attached to his hip and the gas attendant mistook the phone to be a gun,” said Mitzak.
