NEW LENOX, IL — A barricade situation in New Lenox last week ended peacefully and without injuries, the Will County Sheriff’s Office said.
Deputies were called Aug. 30 to a residence on Roberts Road, for a report of a man inside the home, armed with a gun and threatening to harm himself.
Deputies arrived and formed a perimeter around the residence, and then made contact with the man over the phone. After speaking with him periodically over the next few hours, the man came out of the home without incident at 7 p.m. He was taken to a local hospital for evaluation.

Deputies later found a gun inside the home, and confirmed that no one else was inside.
