COLUMBIA, MD — Bark Social plans to open its doors in downtown Columbia this month and will be announcing the official date on its social media platforms.
The social club for dogs and dogs lovers will occupy a 25,000-square-foot indoor/outdoor space next to the Merriweather Post Pavilion.
There will be a professionally monitored off-leash yard for dogs and a bar and cafe for human guests who also can enjoy a beer wall, Adirondack chairs on a covered patio and a retail area called Frankie’s House. The cafe will offer dog-friendly snacks and serve coffee and breakfast items in the morning then beer, wine and other alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and lunch items in the afternoon and evening. Dog treats will include doggy ice cream, pupsicles and more.

Bark Social Columbia’s first official event will be Oktoberfest on Sept. 21 at 10 a.m.
“We love to offer events and happenings that humans like to do, but at Bark Social we offer those everyday things to be done with your furry friend. We host a variety of events, such as trivia nights, movie nights, drag events, game watch parties, breed meetups, paint-your-pup and Puppcaso nights, plus so much more,” Bark Social Founder and CEO Luke Silverman told Patch.

Bark Social will be located at 5801 Merriweather Drive in Columbia. It has locations in Bethesda and Canton. Memberships to the Columbia location are being offered now online.
