GLEN ELLYN, IL — A driver was hurt after they crashed into a utility pole near the intersection of Lambert Road and Orchard Lane in Glen Ellyn Thursday night.

Speed was a “primary factor” of the single-car crash, Deputy Chief Kurt Vavra told Patch. The driver was taken to a nearby hospital and treated for minor injuries. They were cited for driving too fast for conditions, Vavra said.

The crash closed Lambert Road south of Roosevelt for about three hours.
