GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — A proposal to build a Chick-fil-A restaurant in Gloucester Township was approved Tuesday by the Planning Board, officials told Patch.
The eatery will down the street from Gloucester Premium Outlets, bringing the chicken chain to the heart of the township.
It’s unclear when the Chick-fil-A might open. But it could take some time, since the restaurant will be constructed on a lot that’s currently vacant.

The 5,400-square-foot restaurant will seat 82 guests and have multiple drive-thru lanes. The developer, Main Street MDT LLC, will build it at the corner of Premium Outlets and Zimmerman drives.

The vacant, paved lot is part of an area deemed in need of redevelopment — a designation that can help streamline construction processes.
Currently, the nearest Chick-fil-A is 2 miles away in Turnersville, according to the restaurant chain’s website.
Patch first broke news about the planned Chick-fil-A in October.
